Derek
Sajbel
Derek Sajbel received a B.A. in cinema-television with a minor
in Japaese studies from the University of Southern California in 2002.
Derek frequents the alias Dr. Rek ShyBell. He has been producing albums, videos, art and absurdity since 1994 and currently resides in Silver Lake in Los Angeles.
Derek has been performing local Los Angeles underground art and
experimental musical events, such as Hanger1018.com,
CannibalFlower.com and Infinite Complexity (www.icomplex.org),
VJing and doing live circuit bending for over three years. He curated the 2003
Video Artprogram and Electronic music evening at the multimedia art
event "Humanitarian Superpower". His music and videos have been
released on Phthalo Records Infinite Complexity compilations and
the I.D.E.A. #7. He performed in the 2004 Center for xperiments in Art,
Information, and Technology festival, and had a video installation in the
2003 CEAIT (ceait.calarts.edu). He was the first performer at the first
circuitbending festival in New York April 2004 www.thetanknyc.com/bent2004,
brought beding back to NYC's Lower East Side HOWL fest at the Fusion Arts
Museum in August 2004, and returned again in 2005 to triumphantly close
Bent 2005 with his band Zef Renirhs. His current project is a documentary on Circuit Bending.

Daniel
Park
Daniel Park comes from a jazz and contemporary folk
background. He was one of Reeds
irst students and within 8 months Daniel has made over 70 circuit bent
instruments. He designs, builds and sells wonderful CB devices to musicians and
non-musicians alike. We consider Danieal as one of the finest examples of the
empowerment and accessibilty in the experimental art form of circuit
bending.

Jeff Boynton
Jeff, a resident of California, recently attended this
years NYC Tank Festival featuring
Circuit Bending. His instruments
are fantastic (please see attached photos)
He works with Derek in an
ever-changin circuit bending/acoustic ensemble called Zef Renirhs with regular
sessions of horn/string/keyboard/percussion players at California Institute of
the Arts.
Jeff also is involved also with community events such as
"The Highland Park Thursday Evening Gentleen's Society Circuit Bending
Marching Band And Ladies
Auxiliary" recently participating in the Cinco de Mayo parade,
L.A.
Jeffs additional goals are to start developing individual
performance
also utilizing Poetry/Dance/Sign Language.

Matt Pass first met Reed at the Arbutus Hall Event curated by Sloan, Indiana University 1981. (It was probably one of the first major events to introduce circuit bending to an un-suspecting audience.) Matt is a vocal sounder sculpting auralisms with voice, delate, distort, and homemade instruments. His work with circuit bent instruments is vehicular for riding chaos sound patterns, shaping randomness into semi-coherence. Matt also designs an plays instruments such as pvc and mouthpiece-less trumpet devices.

Marc Sloan has known Reed since '72.
He is honoured to conduct The Circuit Bending Orchestra.
Sloan's musical work ranges from solo bass to an extensive resume
performing original Electro Acoustic Composition
utilizing the tools available to the modern composer.
